South Korean all girl vocal band "Girl's Generation" was formed in 2007 by the S.M. Entertainment . After a slow start, the girls hit big in 2009 with "Gee", described at the time as the popular South Korean song of the decade. A string of hits have followed and in 2010, the band ventured into the Japanese charts with debut album "Girls' Generation". The 2011 album became the highest selling album in Japan by a Korean group in Oricon history.
