Johnny Otis was born Ioannis Alexandres Veliotes (1921) in Vallejo, California, United States. Otis passed away in 2012. Otis was an American rhythm and blues/traditional blues pianist, band leader, arranger, singer and recording artist. Otis was prominent during the 1950's to the 1970's. During the 50's and 60's, Otis toured the United States with the California Rhythm and Blues Caravan and had a long run of rhythm and blues hits.
