Kate Miller-Heidke

Classically trained singer-songwriter Kate Miller-Heidke is from Brisbane, Australia. She also completed and received degrees from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and Queensland University of Technology. Her classical award achievements include the Elizabeth Muir Prize (2000), the Donald Penman Prize (2001), the Linda Edith Allen Memorial Prize (2002) and the Horace Keats Prize (2002). Kate's operatic debut performance was with Opera Queensland in the role of Flora in Britten's The Turn of the Screw. Kate Miller-Heidke has also been nominated for and won pop/alternate music awards including AGE EG, ARIA and APRA music awards. (artist bio by John Ialuna 2013)
