Night are an American band best known for their hit, "Hot Summer Nights" (1979). Although the band recorded and performed primarily in the United States (Los Angeles), the musicians were all British. Singer Stevie Vann met Manfred Mann's frontman Chris Thompson while recording backing vocals for Mann's 1978 album "Watch". Thompson asked Vann to front his new band (Bones) that morphed into "Night". The band released 2 albums produced by Richard Perry but Night failed to ignite commercially and disbanded in 1982.
